Item & Stock Management

LogBook allows merchants to manage product catalogs, track stock counts, and upload full inventories in bulk across both Web and Mobile platforms.

1. Adding New Items

1. Navigate to the Inventory / ITEMS section.
2. Tap or click + Add New Item.
3. Enter key product details:
   • Item Name (e.g. 22K Gold Ring, Cotton Polo T-Shirt, Organic Almonds)
   • Selling Price (₹) and Purchase / Cost Price (₹)
   • GST Rate % (0%, 3%, 5%, 12%, 18%, 28%)
   • Unit (Pcs, Grams, Kg, Pack, Strip, Box)
   • Tag No / Barcode & HSN Code
   • Industry Specifications (e.g., Karat Purity, Gross Wt, Stone Wt, Net Wt, Wastage %, Making Charges for Jewelry, or Batch Number & Expiry Date for Pharmacy)
   • Initial Stock Quantity and Low Stock Alert Threshold
4. Click Save to store the item.

2. Bulk Importing from Excel & CSV (Web & Mobile)

If you have an existing product list or spreadsheet with hundreds or thousands of products, you can import them all in seconds.

On Web Dashboard (/inventory):

1. Open http://127.0.0.1:8002/inventory on your computer.
2. Click the purple Import Excel / CSV button in the top header.
3. In the modal:
   • Step 1: Click Download Sample Template (CSV / Excel) to get the standard format.
   • Step 2: Drag and drop or browse your completed .csv, .xlsx, or .xls file.
4. Click Upload & Import Items.
5. LogBook will automatically parse, validate, and batch-create all items (or update existing items if the Barcode/Tag or Name matches).

On Mobile App (ITEMS Tab):

1. Open the ITEMS tab in the bottom bar.
2. Tap the File Upload icon next to the search bar.
3. Select your .csv or .xlsx spreadsheet file from your phone storage or Google Drive.
4. The catalog imports instantly with live success notification!
